SpeakSign exists to bridge the communication gap between Pakistan’s 10 million deaf individuals and the hearing world. Pakistani Sign Language is a rich, expressive language — but it has never had a digital voice. We are changing that with artificial intelligence, computer vision, and an unshakeable belief that every Pakistani deserves to be heard.

Our Story
SpeakSign began when our technical lead, Zahra Batool, visited a special education school in Islamabad during her Final Year Project at International Islamic University. She watched a deaf student try to communicate with a hearing visitor. The visitor did not understand PSL. The student had no digital tool. The conversation failed.
“I had just spent months building AI that recognises faces for security systems,” she said. “And here was a child who just needed AI to recognise her hands so she could be heard. The technology existed. Nobody had built it for her.”
That observation became SpeakSign. Working under Nexaverse Pakistan, Zahra and the team began building Pakistan’s first real-time PSL AI translator.
