About Pakistan’s Deaf Community — Key Facts

Pakistan has over 10 million deaf individuals — one of the largest deaf populations in Asia. Pakistani Sign Language statistics confirm a severe digital exclusion gap: fewer than 2% of deaf children in Pakistan access formal education, deaf employment in the formal sector remains below 5%, and zero AI-powered PSL digital tools existed before SpeakSign.

Pakistan’s 430 government special education schools serve only a fraction of the deaf community’s needs. Human sign language interpreters cost PKR 2,000–5,000 per session and are available only in major cities — leaving Pakistan’s rural deaf population of 37% with no communication support whatsoever. How many deaf people in Pakistan remain without any digital tool? Over 9.8 million — until now.

SpeakSign’s disability technology for Pakistan’s deaf community addresses this gap directly — free, offline, and available on any Android phone. Our Pakistani Sign Language AI translator requires no internet connection, no specialist hardware, and no prior technology experience.

Special education technology Pakistan, deaf communication tools, assistive technology for deaf Pakistan, PSL digital tools 2026, sign language interpreter alternative Pakistan — SpeakSign addresses every one of these needs in a single offline Android application.
